This Children’s Online Privacy Policy is required under the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) and outlines our practices in the United States regarding children’s personal information.
Unless specifically noted, this Children’s Online Privacy Policy does not apply to the general website https://getacceptd.com/ (the “Site”). We do not knowingly collect or maintain personal information of any person under the age of 13 from the Site, and no parts of the Site are directed to or designed to attract anyone under the age of 13. Information we collect from children, and how we collect it
Acceptd is an online service platform designed to enable and optimize the ability for artists of varying ages and disciplines to learn about, apply for, and progress through programs and activities offered by organizations and/programs (each, an “organization”) dedicated to the furtherance of artists’ personal and career goals. To support the goals you and your child or student may have, we offer the ability for children to use our Platform for these purposes.
Acceptd has an ‘age gate’ on its Platform that restricts users under the age of 16 from creating an account. If you choose to create an account for your child or student that is a child (each, a “child account”), you must first create your own account (each, a “parent / teacher account”). You will then be able to create a child account. Once you create a child account, the child will only be able to access that child account through your parent / teacher account and its associated log-in credentials.
By creating a child account, you are providing your consent to the collection and disclosure of the child’s personal information in accordance with this Children’s Online Privacy Policy.
Acceptd does not ask for more personal information than is necessary for a child to participate in the relevant activity. Please see our general Privacy Policy and the section “Personal Information” for a description of the personal information we may collect about a child through the Platform.
A child also has the ability to input other information via free-text fields and media uploads. You have the ability at any time to log into the child account and view any information a child has provided through the Platform.
Organizations whom your child or student applies to will be able to review the materials used to submit and support the child’s application. Organizations whom your child applies to or begins an application with may also contact you or your child regarding the application via the contact information you provided and/or the Platform. In addition, if you or your child indicates (if you have created a child account) on the Platform that you or your child would like to join Acceptd’s ‘Recruitment Network’, organizations may reach out to you or your child about relevant programs and activities via the contact information you provided and/or the Platform. You will be able to view and change the settings for Recruitment Network communications at any time by logging onto the Platform.
Messaging Features
The Platform provides the ability for an organization to communicate with children via an in-Platform messaging service. You will be able to view these communications at any time by logging onto the Platform.
Video Uploads / Third-Party Video Communication Platforms
Applicants have the option to upload videos and other media to the Platform as part of the services. We utilize third-party servers such as Amazon Web Services for any videos you or your child or student upload directly to the Platform.
Organizations may also utilize third-party video communication platforms such as Zoom in order to support auditions, interviews, and other video-based interactions with applicants, in which case organizations may retain copies in order to evaluate your child’s admission or participation in the relevant activity or program. These third-party video communication platforms may also offer SMS text messaging services as part of their online meeting services. If you or your child or student provide mobile information for this purpose, it will not be shared with third parties, including our affiliates, for marketing or promotional purposes, but may be transmitted to third parties (such as the SMS text or video communications vendors) for analytical purposes.
When we may share your child’s personal information with others
We may share or disclose personal information collected from children in a limited number of instances, which we identify under the “Sharing of Information” section of our general Privacy Policy. Except for organizations as described in this Children’s Online Privacy Policy, we do not share children’s personal information with third parties for those third parties’ direct marketing purposes.

Your rights and choices
